Pictures!

This one still has the paint tape on it.

Oooops!

Just a shot of the wall with the window, still has tape on it.
Man, it's really green isn't it?

I think it will look good/better when we get the furniture and pictures/wall hangings back where they belong. I really think painting the dresser white is a good idea, what do you think?
And yes, I am definitely taking down the window treatment, she says she feels like a 5 year old with it up.
She is so grown up isn't she?

We are also putting some shelves on the wall for her to put her "stuff" on, she has informed me she won't be putting her posters back up.

When it is completely done (hopefully this weekend) I will put some completed pictures up, I realize these just look like a green room.

Done, but no photos yet.

Well, we finished painting. I haven't had time to put the pictures on yet but I will definitely do it tonight. There is no headboard for the bed, but I am working on that, and she has a dresser (the wooden one) that I told her we really, really, really, need to paint because it just doesn't look right in that green room. She also has a light blue desk that I suggested doing something to, but she said that blue goes with green. I'm not sure if it does or not but at this point I have to pick my battles.

Besides, she has enough going on right now, she is starting high school, at a new school.
So if she wants to keep the desk blue, then she most certainly can.

Also, we went to Charlotte to meet our blogger friends this weekend, and it was so much fun.

They were all a lot of fun and just as nice as I imagined. It was really nice to meet them, it's great when you meet someone and they are just like you imagined.

Pictures tomorrow, I promise.

Today is the Day!!

Today, I am heading to Charlotte with my friend Nonny, to meet 24@heart!!!

I can't wait to tell her what grits are! And who doesn't want gravy on their biscuit? Really you should have at least let them bring it out on the side and tried it. You would love it, it isn't like turkey gravy. This is milk gravy!

Mmmmm, mmmm, good!

I am so looking forward to meeting someone from California, so many questions?

Do you run into Arnold Schwarzenegger on the street?

Is everyone there really that tan and skinny?

Never seen a lightning bug? Aaaawwww, that's sweet!
(We say that a lot in the South)
You are missing out there too, what other kind of bugs' butt glows?

Oh well, I am sure once we get together we can solve all the worlds problems. Like why there is no sausage gravy in CA.

Can't wait!

Before. . . . .

Please note the detail in that beautiful butterfly.

View from the door.

She'
s packing her stuff, but I will admit that on any given day, it could still look like this.

How about those trophies? Medals?

She picked green for her color. I think it's like a lime green. Not sure. This should be interesting.
( I think like my signature, green)

Things to Do!

This is our last week before school starts so I have been trying to get things ready for the kids before they have to go back. We have to go get some school clothes, paper, pencils, etc. Also, Baby girl wants her room painted. We are trying to get that done this weekend so yes, I will have some pictures for you.

Also, I really want to paint my kitchen cabinets. Maybe I can do that this weekend while hubby and Baby girl do her room. If I do, then of course, I will show you how great they look when I am done.

I also have another project that I want to work on when all that is done, but first I have to complete the painting, then I have quite a few pictures I need to frame. So I will be pretty busy for a while.

I will put some before pictures of the room for you tomorrow. I have to tell you I think it looks pretty cute now, but Baby girl, won't be my baby girl for ever. Boo Hoo!!

Finally Friday!

Well, I did it, I made it through another week! This week has been pretty busy for me, not only did I work, every day, mind you, I had something to do every night.

School starts soon and baby girl is off for her 1st year in high school.

I can't believe it, I mean, where did the time go. It seems like just yesterday, she was starting preschool. And my baby boy is a senior this year. Yes, I said senior.

(sniffle, sniffle)

Man, somebody is getting old. (Their dad, he has gray hair.)

It seems like just yesterday, (or last week maybe) that I went to that school, now my kids are there.

It's funny, there were times when the days seemed long, but now the days go by so fast.

I hope this is a great year for both of them.

When you're young, school is not always pleasant. But, when you are out of school, I think most people look back and think, hey, that wasn't so bad. I mean after high school is college, then you have to get a JOB. Oooohhhh! You may even have to work EVERY DAY!!!

Have a great weekend!

Hosea

We have recently started a new Bible study at my church, and this time we are studying Hosea. I have to say I had heard the story of Hosea a long time ago, but was reminded of it when a friend suggested that I read "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers.

If you have ever read any of her books, then you know how great she is. She has a wonderful way of telling a story while relating it to the Bible. I have read every book of hers that I could get my hands on and I have to say the last 3 that I read which were a series called The Mark of the Lion, these were m
y absolute favorites! They are GREAT!!!

Now that I've gotten my book review out of the way, I'll tell you what I have enjoyed so far about studying Hosea. I am amazed at the mans faithfulness in following Gods word. He listened to what the Lord told him to do and did it, no matter the cost. That is obedience in its finest. I mean God told him to find an unfaithful woman and take her for his wife. Not exactly acceptable even then, but he was a man of faith, so he did it.

That's faith.

In action.

Something the Preacher said that really stuck out in my mind was that true love doesn't begin with emotion, it begins with commitment.

Isn't it funny how love for us, begins with that feeling you get when you first start dating someone, you have butterflies in your stomach and you just can't wait to see them again. Remember that feeling? Maybe it was the way they looked at you.

Then you get married, and while some people still get that feeling, you learn that a lot of the love you feel comes from being with that person for so long and that you are committed to them.

Now that is something to think about.

What attracts you most?

This weekend we rented a few movies to watch.
First up was Mr. Wonderfuls' pick.

Now that is not to say that I didn't want to see this one because, I mean, come on people. It just really looks like a good movie, right?

Then there was the movie that I picked out.

I know, I know, we went from Vin Diesel to Adam Sandler? I can't help it I love a man with a good sense of humor. I love all of his movies, he is super funny, and while I know he is no Richard Gere, he is handsome to me. I guess it's because he makes me laugh, I love it when they make me laugh. And lets face it ladies, most men make you laugh at some point in a relationship.

You know it's true!

Anyway, both movies were good. Of course Adam gets the girl, he always does in case you haven't noticed. Except for that one depressing movie he did that time about 9-11. I tried to watch that one but I couldn't get into it.
Sorry, I just wasn't feelin it.
Of course, Fast and Furious was excellent, definitely a man movie, lots of action, fast cars, pretty girls, what more does a man want in a movie? NOTHING! Well, maybe something else, but I am trying to keep it clean.
I would also like to add that I have seen the Hangover this summer and it is by far the funniest movie I have seen in a long time. I went with 3 other girls and we laughed our heads off. Really!!! You really should see it if you haven't already but definitely leave the kids home for that one. But adults will love it.

So what have you seen lately?

Happy Birthday!

Today is Mr. Wonderful's birthday!

We have been married for 20 years this October. Twenty years, that is a long time. But it feels like yesterday.

He is sweet, loving, generous, kind, thoughtful, all of those things and he still puts up with me.

Happy Birthday!!!!

Different Stuff!

I couldn't decide where to put it so for now, it is in my bedroom. I like it!

After we moved every piece of furniture in the entire living room, we decided to try the bedroom. With my baby girl helping me, we finally found it a home, for now anyway.

When we were done with that, we decided to go see the goats. Our girl goats have started changing color. They are turning brown, like a deer. I think they kind of look like baby deer, don't you?
